Overview

Company Description

BufferSprings builds custom recruitment, engagement, and retention programs for companies looking to create effective and sustainable military talent programs. We are proud to be 100% service-disabled, veteran-owned, and operated.

Job Description

Our remote DoD SkillBridge internships provide real-world job experience, training, and skills development. We purposefully designed our program to give interns a head start on transitioning from military service to civilian employment while still enjoying the safety net of full pay and benefits from the military.

Along the way, our team is committed to helping you connect with people in your desired industry, providing world-class training, and helping you discover mentors who can help guide your career for years to come.

Training Paths

Our philosophy is simple – we want your time as a SkillBridge intern to prepare you for the transition to civilian life and give you experiences across several corporate roles. By moving through our Foundations training path, you can try out different jobs before ever committing to them. This process will help you figure out what you like and – more importantly – what you want to avoid doing in a business environment. Afterward, you will feel more confident choosing your first post-military position.

Here’s what to expect:

  • World-class transition training through our Learning Management System and live weekly check-ins
  • Specialized training that aligns with your industry or career field
  • Hands-on job shadowing and progressive projects

Each SkillBridge intern starts with our Community Outreach program. This immersive program teaches you critical skills on how to communicate in the business world, basic tenants of influencing/selling (critical skills for your interview process!), and gets you up to speed on our mission here at BufferSprings.

After your first month focusing on Community Outreach, you will choose between 3-4 of the following training paths based on your past work experience, your desired career path, and what interests you:

  • Military Talent Program Management
  • Digital Marketing
  • Human Resources
  • Veteran Recruitment & Retention
  • Sales / Business Development
  • Military Partnerships Coordinator
  • Federal Government Contracting

BufferSprings Transition Preparation

No matter your path, every BufferSprings experience includes ongoing career support and transition preparation in our online community. In addition to the training, certifications, and experience earned during their tenure, interns receive customized resume advice and LinkedIn profile training.

Components may include:

  • 1-on-1 career preparation support
  • Group/virtual networking experiences
  • Individual mentorship through our partner ecosystem
  • Informational Interview guidance
  • Position-specific resume feedback and support

Program Location

Most opportunities are remote/WFH and may also involve on-site work with your employer host in a location aligned with your needs.

Program Duration

8-24 weeks
